Request the Current Release Information
Contact the facility directly for its balance, acceptable payment methods, release requirements and operating hours. Ask whether charges continue to accumulate and when the quoted balance expires.
Confirm Ownership and Authorization
Determine who must appear or sign and which identification and ownership documents the yard requires. A buyer cannot override a facility's release rules.
Describe the Vehicle
Explain accident damage, missing parts, wheel condition and whether keys are held by the facility. Ask the yard where the vehicle is positioned and whether another truck can access it.
Coordinate Both Parties
Do not assume the buyer and facility have spoken. Provide the correct contact, agreed pickup window and release status, while keeping private account information protected.
