Speak With the Shop First
Confirm that the facility is prepared to release the vehicle and ask whether the owner must be present. Obtain the correct shop contact and pickup hours. Do not schedule until any repair, diagnostic, storage or authorization questions have been resolved directly with the facility.
Explain the Vehicle Condition
A partially disassembled vehicle may need special planning. State whether wheels, keys, battery, engine components or body panels have been removed and whether the car rolls and steers.

Ask where the tow truck should enter, where the vehicle is parked and whether other cars must be moved. Busy repair lots may provide a narrow pickup window.
Keep the Transaction Clear
Confirm the quoted amount, towing terms, ownership documents and who will sign the release. Keep the shop and buyer informed if the pickup time changes.
