Junk Car Pickup From a Low-Clearance Garage

Garage height is only one part of access; ramps, turns and wheel condition also matter.

Measure the Lowest Clearance

Record the posted entrance height and look for lower pipes, signs or beams along the route. Share the parking floor, space number and whether the vehicle faces uphill, downhill or toward a wall.

Inspect the Exit Route

Photograph tight corners, ramps, speed bumps and gate arms. Explain whether another vehicle must move and where loading can occur without blocking residents.

Confirm Whether the Car Rolls

State whether the steering unlocks, tires hold air, brakes release and transmission can shift. A car that cannot roll may require a different method to reach an accessible loading area.

Coordinate With Management

Ask about vendor authorization, hours, elevator or gate access and where a larger truck may wait. Keep the building contact available during pickup.

Garage Pickup Questions

Is the entrance clearance enough information?

No. The route may contain lower obstructions, turns or ramps that also affect access.

Can the vehicle be moved outside first?

Only when it can be done safely and with property permission. Describe the condition before making plans.
